Company Profile...

The Parent Company was incorporated on 9th May 1979 at Companies House, Cardiff.  The business is a high profile retail Garden Centre operating on  Holt Road, Llan-Y-Pwll, Wrexham.   Waterways sells a wide selection of Gardening and Aquatic Products .  The seasonal business is complemented by a strong range of 'Winter Products', in particular extensive range of Fireworks and Christmas Items.  The business trades 7 days a week excluding Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

The management of the Company is under the day to day control of Nick Thomas Mike Cox and Wendy Churchill, and the Company currently employs 10 permanent staff supplemented by part-time employees during busy periods.

Ian Buxton has been retailing since leaving school and started his own pet shop business.   In the 1970's the business moved to the Old site at Lavister under the direction of Ian and Paul.  Ian now is involved in travelling the world and establishing links with suppliers and has developed extensive contacts world-wide and brings a large selection of goods to the business which are new to the U.K., all at remarkable discount prices!!!

Nick Thomas ran the aquatic franchise as his own business and so impressed the Buxton's, that they invited him to merge his business and become a Director of the Company.  Nick has now broadened his skills and is now joint managing director responsible for all day to day running of the business.

Paul Buxton is  responsible for the web site and general overseeing of the day to day running Of the shop floor.

Ian & Paul Buxton have been travelling all over Thailand selecting new and exciting products for the coming season. We have already purchased enough stock to fill 2 containers. This stock will be arriving in April in plenty of time for Spring and summer. We have stone lanterns, animals, wall plaques and waterfalls from Khorat and wooden reclaimed teak furniture, wind chimes, carvings, rocking horses and many many more items. 

While we have been away the rest of the Waterways team Nik, Mike, John, Wendy, Paul, Steve, V and the lads have been busy packing away the decorations and rearranging our interior and exterior areas to accommodate our purchases from Thailand, China, Indonesia, England. We  will have new ranges of furniture, BBQ's, Water features, a new extended coldwater fish setup, grow your own products , seeds , composts planters too many items to mention.

As soon as I am able I will be updating our web site with new pictures video and layouts.
